The Calibrate Apprenticeship is a full-time, paid program, where you’ll learn through hands-on experience with state-of-the-art aircraft, ground service equipment and facilities maintenance as you follow a clear path to a technician career. The program is currently open to United employees in the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) union. External candidates can apply for open Utility Specialist roles as they become available. If hired, a candidate can bid into open Calibrate apprenticeship roles that will be awarded based on seniority. See all open roles in Technical Operations on our careers page. As a Calibrate Apprentice, you will:
Earn while you learn Get technician pay, benefits, and travel perks on day 1, build union seniority throughout the training and certification process. All at no cost to you, saving you up to $50,000 in tuition and related expenses. 
Level up your skillset

Get on the job training by qualified technicians and work with the most modern technology, aircraft and airport equipment while you prepare to join the Aircraft Maintenance, Ground Service Equipment or Facilities Maintenance teams.
