Calibrate is a full-time, paid apprenticeship program, where you’ll learn through hands-on experience with state-of-the-art aircraft and equipment as you follow a clear path to a career as a technician at United.

As a Calibrate participant, you will:
Earn while you learn Get technician pay, benefits, and travel perks on day 1, build union seniority throughout the training and certification process. All at no cost to you, saving you up to $50,000 in tuition and related expenses. 
Level up your skillset Work with the most modern technology and aircraft while you prepare for Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification through on-the-job training and mentorship by our certified technicians.
Grow your career Certification unlocks countless career opportunities in technical and management roles throughout United.

Committed to diversity

We’re committed to providing more opportunities to groups underrepresented in technician roles. Currently, only 2.6% of certificated aircraft technicians are female and only 40% are people of color. We plan to train more than 1,000 people to become United Technicians through Calibrate by 2026, with a goal of at least 50% being women or people of color.
