Job Overview
As a Sr. Manager of Commercial Analytics, you will partner with the Commercial teams (E.g. Revenue Management, Network Planning and Sales) to define and execute data analytics initiatives that drive incremental revenue. You will be responsible for identifying and analyzing opportunities as well as managing the execution and delivery of projects. You will be working with internal and external partner teams both in the US and off-shore. This role will require strategic thinking and strong client focus.
  • Manage projects that involve team members across all data analytics areas, vendors and external partners. Be accountable for deliverables by understanding and balancing the competing demands for project scope, time and quality.
  • Partner with commercial teams to identify key initiatives and develop solutions using advanced analytics
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed
  • Be a thought partner to the commercial teams in creating analytics as a competitive advantage for United
  • Lead status meetings and manage frequent communication to key stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field and/or equivalent work experience required
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field and/or MBA preferred
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
  • Strong passion to solve business problems with data
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint
  • Experienced in analyzing complex, high volume, high dimensionality data from various sources to identify patterns and relationships
  • Strong knowledge of at least one database querying tools
  • Experienced in using visualization tools – Spotfire preferred
  • Be familiar in using Big Data ecosystems
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize activities quickly and effectively
  • Ability to proactively manage stakeholder expectations on current and future business needs
  • Self-motivated – If you don’t know the answer, you’ll reach out and find somebody who does
  • At least 3 years of experience in an analytical role required
  • Project management experience preferred
  • At least one year in a supervisory role preferred
