Job overview and responsibilities
 
The HR Field Generalists department exists within the Human Resource division of United Airlines. This team is involved in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, system implementations, change management and communication processes. This team is located at all of United’s hub locations and Headquarters and works side by side with their business partners, supporting all areas of United’s operation.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Participate in project planning meetings for ongoing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Collect data on transactional work or work that is being sent to field and the resolution of that work
  • Support the development and implementation of change management and training plans for various policy and technology initiatives in Human Resources
  • Implement changes to HR communication processes as feedback received from field HR partners, including department website and SharePoint site
  • Support implementation of case management tool and build Knowledge Management content for HR partners; create metrics for success
Required Qualifications
  • Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Statistics, or related studies
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically in Excel and Access
  • Prior experience in data analytics through internships, coursework, or related experience
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualifications
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
 
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency using Spotfire
  • Exceptional technical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with focus on teamwork
  • Excellent verbal / written communication skills
  • Experience with programing / statistical analysis tools
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma concepts
  • Airline experience
