Job overview and responsibilities 

Senior Project Manager, CSC Projects in Corporate Real Estate Planning and Development will oversee a portfolio of projects that range from small and large scale corporate facility projects ranging from domestic to international commercial type buildings from inception to completion, in accordance with corporate policies and standards and governing regulations and requirements. Depending on Project and/or Portfolio size, a Sr PM can oversee junior Project Managers, Drafters, Project Coordinators, and/or PM Consultants. Portfolio size is anticipated up to 60-80 small projects ($100K – 2M) or large programs exceeding $100M. The leader in this role will collaborate with various building management and Corporate Real Estate entities, as required, to ascertain, understand and collaborate with staff on facilities projects, to ensure the airline interests are accounted for and addressed.

Project Delivery

  • Manages self (and team) to plan, design and execute commercial property facility and infrastructure construction projects
  • Manages the programming, planning, design, construction, schedule and budget related issues that pose challenges to the success of the project by drawing on knowledge of the the planning, design, construction process knowledge and experience
  • Manages all project vendors including: contractors, furniture installers, movers, IT vendors, art vendors, building management service vendors
  • Accountable for maintaining database of all CSC property and office locations
  • Accountable for the compliance with budget, schedule and scope of the projects 
  • Responsible for governance of the PMLC (UA and CRE), artifacts, and guidelines
  • Responsible for the utilization of any PMLC process and standards
  • Responsible for the use of Project Database, PM Artifacts, workflows, forms, Project Management Guidelines etc by self (and team)


  • Effectively lead teams by establishing team and individual goals that align with departmental goals
  • Oversee direct reports’ and self’s individual performance and improvement plans
  • Responsible for coaching, counseling, assisting employees to develop individual career development and training plans
  • Use technical knowledge experience to provide thoughtful decision making and guidance in strategic implementation of United’s approved projects

Portfolio Planning, Development and Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with various business partners including building and property management entities, Corporate Real Estate Leadership, Company Senior Leadership facilities managers and other off-airport real estate contacts, as well as United internal customers.
  • Build and manage portfolio plans of both capital and expense projects over 2, 5 and 10-year look aheads, based on client needs and facility assessments for all assigned facility locations
  • Develop project strategy and approach during Envision and develop multiple alternatives to achieve Project Objectives
  • Responsible for the the delivery and portfolio management of scope, cost and schedules for all projects within their assigned projects (including team)



  • Degree plus relevent experience
  • Conversant in design and construction techniques, understand design and construction management process and vernacular, understanding of best practices of Portfolio, Program and Project Management
  • Background in space planning, short and long term commercial real estate planning, and managing operating and capital budgets
  • Proficient user of AutoCAD
  • 5+ years Planning, Design and Construction Experience; plus, minimum 2+ years experience in commercial facility project management
  • Experience managing project teams
    Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position


  • Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management and/or MBA
  • Background in construction safety, capital improvement planning for facilities, and / or Aviation Master Planning, Knowledge of ADA, building code, standards, guidelines and requirements that relate to planning and design of facilities and facility infrastructure
  • Background in lease negotiations
  • Experience in implementing new workplace strategy in office environment
  • Experience user with BlueBeam, Revit, Photoshop
  • Experience with Real Estate and Facility management softwares
  • 5+ years experience with commercial facility project management design and construction projects
  • Certification: PMP, LEED, Black Belt, PE, RA, CM, AIA
