Developer – IT Application Development
As a Developer at United Airlines, you play an important role in creating and maintaining the strategic partnership between business needs and technology delivery. As a Developer your role is to plan, design, develop and launch efficient systems and solutions in support of core organizational functions. Apply proven communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues, opportunities or problems in order to maximize the benefit of IT and Business investments.  
  • Partner with the eCommerce team and IT to prepare and program various projects related to the latest Mobile technologies
  • Deliver across the entire app life cycle from concept, design, build, deploy, test, release to app stores and support
  • Possess deep knowledge of designing and implementing back-end system/services
  • Work with frontend UI developers to deliver state of the art iOS & Android mobile experiences across the different functions
  • Architect and design programs to meet the goals and requirements of various projects
  • Quickly integrate and update projects
  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing project tasks on schedule and by interacting with other developers
  • Provide technical insight on existing mobile platforms to improve performance, availability and utilization optimizations
  • Perform research and development to evaluate emerging technologies and their potential to optimize the platform
  • Evaluate, suggest and implement third party software as needed
  • Make efficient use of source control and bug tracking systems
  • Review estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability and general reliability
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience required
  • ASP.NET, REST, SQL Server
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and deliverables, both short and long-term, in a busy and aggressive environment
  • Self-motivated, possess strong communication skills and able to work in a team oriented environment
  • Basic knowledge of networking
  • 3 or more years of experience in application design, development, installation and modification of software
  • Experience with .NET, MVC, Web Services and Web Security
  • Hands on development experience with development techniques such as mocking and unit testing
  • Familiarity with Unix / Linux system
  • Experience with Go, Java, C#, Python, Bash scripting, and/or TypeScript
  • Experience in container technologies and writing containerized software (Docker, Windows Container and Azure Service Fabric)
  • Experience with Document databases, such as Couchbase
  • Working experience with cloud-based providers such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Service
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
  • Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
