Overview & Responsibilities
As a Welding Technician you will work in the fast-paced San Francisco Technical Operation department. The Welding
Technician plays a very important role in providing quality service to our internal customers. The Welding Technician
should have strong working knowledge and abilities to perform repairs on critical Aircraft and Engine parts on a daily basis
including the required following duties and qualifications:
Welding Technicians must be able to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all
weather conditions. Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority. Technicians may bid for schedules several
times a year and schedules are awarded according to seniority.
Welding Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). Salary increases will be
administered according to the current IBT/United contract. Shift differentials of $.51 and $.58 cents per hour for working
an afternoon or evening shift respectively are paid in addition to the hourly rate. New employees are required to join the
union within ninety (90) days of employment. There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union
